this is a no good very bad horrible day.... All things being relative of course. Nothing is SERIOUSLY wrong.
I dropped my beloved phone/life line/email transmission device somewhere between my car and my store while carrying merchandise. I noticed it maybe 5 minutes later. We called it immediately and someone picked it up but said nothing (we could hear the cars in the background). Then we called it again and again and they didn't pick up. So I had no choice but to call the provider and suspend the phone. But they have no way of going into my phone and zapping the info.... so somebody is walking around with my phonebook, my email list, pictures of my kids..... I didn't think to send a text message before canceling it, offering a reward. They would have seen it on the screen. But now it's too late.....
And we are now 1 month past the deadline in the quilt swap and some people still haven't received their quilts. Some are in transit, but one person just came out and said they weren't going to be sending anything. Sounds like they didn't even try. And that pisses me off. 'Cause I sent several reminders over the course of the swap, it wasn't a hard swap, and now there is a person who actually made and sent a quilt to someone that is not getting one in return, at least not from their intended partner. I have asked the drop-out to please take the quilt that she received and pass it on to her intended recipient. I hope she does the right thing. But in the mean time, I feel so bad as the organizer of this thing that I will retreat to my craft-cave and attempt to channel this anger into some sort of quilt that I can send out.
Then I will go to the wine store. Because I should not be this pissed off without a little something to sip on after the kids go to bed. And tomorrow is National Drinking Day, I mean Canada Day. Though beer is more appropriate, but I'm not so much a beer girl.

I'm sorry to hear about a few bad eggs in the swap - you did a great job organizing it and I will definitely sign on again if you ever decide to try it...people flaking out is definitely not a reflection on you! Hang in there.

I must agree with Kristina. Every swap I've ever been part of has it's flakes. Nothing personal against you, but it's still really annoying. Wish I could whip up a quilt for you, but I'm happy if I get buttons on straight.
Red or white wine?

It is not your fault that someone has flaked on the quilt swap, but I know you feel bad since you arranged it. But it is not your fault. I hope the person does the right thing too.
Sorry about your phone. The same thing happened to me. I think every now and then about how I wish I had texted them.

Sorry to hear you are having a rough day. Hope it all turns round soon.

I'm sorry about the bad day. Please do not feel bad about the quilt swap. It is completely not your fault if someone does not do the right thing and follows through on a promise. Please remember what joy the swap brought to so many others. I honestly had a wonderful time making the little quilt for my partner. It was truly even better than receiving my quilt...and my quilt that I got ROCKS!

I'm sorry about your phone.
It's not your fault about the swap flake. You did a great job organizing and sometimes people just suck.

That very much sucks about your phone. Am so sorry. And also lame re: the quilt swap. So not your fault.
Hope your week looks up and the sun comes out. You could always come visit here. It is always sunny and marginally closer than Paris.

Sorry about your phone. Hope your Canada Day was better, drinking wine and watching Strange Brew on a continuous loop while half the city frantically packed all their belongings and shoved them into moving vans before getting evicted. Damn, that was a long run on sentence. The vodka must be kicking in.

Heya, in case you were worried, my quilt finally made it to my partner about a week and a half ago. Yay, so relieved. I am sorry someone flaked. :(

Total suckers on the phone news. I would feel super violated - especially given the personal pics of the kids, oh and your racy bedroom shots - I'm sure. Last swap I participated in was a KLB one. You came through like a champ - got some fun stuff from your shop (I'll bet) - the chocolate was the bomb. Then came the swap after & my partner never came through. I followed up with the organizers - but she still never came through. That dulled me on the swaps. Happy belated Canada Day! BTW - you're the first person I thought of when I heard of the Day on NPR. That's saying a lot since half my family is up there.

Thanks so much for organising the swap - I think that you did a great job. I have been keeping an eye on my recipient's blog, but she hasn't posted that she has received her quilt yet. I have the international post receipt and I think it should have arrived by now??
