Meeee Keeeew!

it's now Day 5 and I'm happy to report that I have managed to wash my face morning and night every single day. Last night, I forgot. I was tucked in bed with the ipod, about to watch the first episode of The Tudors, but I dragged  my sorry behind to the bathroom and scrubbed. I haven't added the moisturizer yet because I haven't had a minute to go buy any.

Sooooo. Bionic Granddad is doing great and walked in the hallway today with a walker. He should go home this weekend. And Dumpling already likes her new school/class. It's not entirely new, as it is attached to the Synagogue where she attended the morning nursery program these past two years, and lots of the kids are the same kids. But it's in the Big Building, with the Big Kids. And parents can't go into the classroom. We bring them to their cubby and then say our goodbyes. She did OK with that. And she ate lunch at school today, for the first time ever. Surprisingly, she ate a good 75% of what I sent her. Sure, I started with hard boiled eggs and cucumber slices, something she would never turn down, but still, I wasn't there to coax her to eat it!

What isn't going so well however is Beach Ball and her reaction to her sister being gone half the day.... She is JEALOUS! She wants to go! the first hour after Dumpling leaves, all we hear is Meeeee Kew (that's School in BB speak). Me! KEEEEEWWWW!

Let's see how she likes it when we actually try to bring her next week!!!!

Day 3 and Good Juju for Mortimer's Grand-dad

Day 3, washed my face both morning AND night yesterday, which is a first for me, and again this morning... What can I say? It's not really about WHAT I'm using but rather the fact that I'm actually doing it.... Crazy! I dont' understand how I got away without any kind of skin care routine my entire adult life thus far.

I need to step itup with mosturizer, but the one I had was probably expired, so I will go out and buy something today... Suggestions? Must have SPF, possibly a tad colored. I don't have a Sephora in my city, so it's got to be buyable at either Drug store or large departmetn store.

Right now, I'm waiting for my mom to call me to give me news on  my dad. He went under the knife this morning for a long-awaited knee replacement. It's not dangerous surgery, but you know, when your dad has his leg opened and bones taken out and replaced by artificial parts...... yeah, I'm waiting for the call......

The Face Project - Day 1

I have no skin-care routine. I pretty much wash my face in the shower and that's it. I know, it's unthinkable. I'm pushing 40 and I don't moisturize or wear SPF... I know! I can hear you screaming at your computer! I got away with this nonsense for a while, but it's not cutting it anymore. My hormones are all over the place, so suddenly, I'm like a teenager with zits. And my pores.... big enough to count!

I have had facials and spent tons of fancy products, that just end up sitting in the cupboard or on the side of the tub. But no more! That's right. You, my people, are going to be my accountability. And for the next 30 days, I will wash my face and moisturize every single day. I started this morning by buying a very basic but good foaming face wash and mosturizer with SPF. I washed myself and used those pore-strips to get rid of the grime.... One day down, 39 to go.
