I have been very lax in my participation in Movie Review Monday. Thing is, I am highly intimidated by my e-husband's brilliant reviews, and frankly, I can't think of movies to talk about. I have seen my share of good movies lately: Knocked-up, Sicko, Ratatouille, and today Once, an Irish movie that will likely never come to a theater near you.
But while sitting through the previews yesterday waiting for Ratatouille to begin (which I saw with my husband, no kids. well, other people's kids were everywhere, but still, not ours!!!!), I saw a preview for Bratz, the human version..... OH MY GOD!. watch out, I'm about to spoil the entire thing for you, just like the preview did for me.
4 girls have been BFF forever. If by forever you mean at most 14 years, since they are just about to enter highschool. One of them is a cheerleader, one is artsy, one is brainy and one is goth (though I think the goth one might be brainy, and then, I don't know what the 4th one is). Anyhow, they are different and like different things, but go figure, they get along. And then they start high school and are confronted with cliques. They are no longer allowed to sit together at lunch, forced to join the cliques that each of their "styles" represent. Who forces them? Well, the uber bitchy ruler of the school, some blonde rich chic. Thankfully, our 4 BFF soon realize that they still want to be BFF, so they vow to stick together and get revenge on the blond bitch. Now, this movie doens't come out until next month, but let me predict that they will in fact prevail, that blond bitch will learn her lesson and that all the cliques will learn to get along.....
Who is making these movies? Where is the John Hughes of 2007? Apologies if I spoiled Bratz for you....
I can't believe you just spoiled Bratz for me! Now I have to wait a full year to be surprised by the deleted scenes and bloopers on the DVD extras. Whatever you do, please do not ruin "Bring it On III: She's Got Spirit" for me. It airs next Monday on ABC Family. The TiVo is already set.
Thanks for the compliment, though it is really not necessary. I just spend an inordinate amount of time at dollar stores seeking out obscure three decade old made for TV movies to mock. That act will get played out soon.

Thanks a lot, V. I'd been waiting ALL YEAR for this movie and now it's RUINED! [*runs off, sobbing*]
